The Story Session

At the heart of Hazelhurst Design Studio is our unique approach to the initial consultation: The Story Session. 

The Story Session is more than just a consultation, it’s an opportunity for us to get to know you both as individuals and as a couple. Together, we begin to uncover the moments, places, people, and little details that have shaped your story and ultimately answer the question: 

What story are we trying to tell, and how can every element help tell it? 

During your 90-minute initial consultation, your designer will ask you a series of questions ranging from, “how did you meet” to “what is your favorite way to spend a Tuesday night”. Rather than focusing solely on how you want your wedding to look, we explore how you want it to feel—the atmosphere you want to create, the memories you want to make, and the pieces of your life you want your guests to experience.

Following the story session, your designer will create and share with you a Story Summary and Inspiration Board (take a peek at some here) for your event. From here, every detail, no matter how small, will be intentionally chosen with the overall narrative in mind. 

Because the goal isn't simply to design a beautiful wedding. It's to design a wedding that could only belong to you.
